Dubai South Sees 7% Increase in Business Aviation Movements for H1 2024
8,472 Movements in H1 2024, with 18,000 Private Jet Movements Expected by Year-End
The Mohammed bin Rashid Aerospace Hub (MBRAH) at Dubai South continues to excel in private jet movements, recording 8,472 movements in the first six months of 2024—a 7% increase compared to the same period in 2023. This milestone highlights the expanding maturity of the business aviation sector and solidifies Al Maktoum International Airport’s position as the premier airport for international business aviation in the Middle East.
This year’s growth follows a record 16,657 private jet movements in 2023, with projections suggesting a total of 18,000 movements by the end of 2024.
HE Khalifa Al Zaffin, Executive Chairman of Dubai Aviation City Corporation and Dubai South, commented: “We are delighted to witness the ongoing growth in business aviation movements year after year. We expect this trend to continue, driven by the new aircraft hangars and maintenance facilities being developed in Dubai South and the upcoming MEBAA Show, the region’s leading business aviation event, in December 2024. At MBRAH, we remain committed to establishing Dubai as the global aviation capital, in line with the government’s vision.”
MBRAH provides global aerospace players with exceptional connectivity and serves as a free-zone destination for leading airlines, private jet companies, and related industries. Located within Dubai South, MBRAH also hosts maintenance centers, as well as training and education campuses.
