Bahrain Airport Company launches 2023 Safety Week to reinforce aerodrome safety priorities.
Safety Week is held on an annual basis to reinforce a culture of safety awareness, transparency, and efficiency towards aerodrome safety and to sustain the airport’s reputation as an efficient and safe workplace and environment for all.
Bahrain Airport Company (BAC), the operator and controlling body of Bahrain International Airport (BIA), kicked off its annual Safety Week with a ceremony at the Movenpick attended by important airport industry stakeholders. Among those in attendance were major stakeholders from Bahrain International Airport.
Every year, Safety Week is celebrated in order to maintain the airport’s reputation as a productive and secure workplace and setting for everyone, as well as to foster a culture of safety awareness, transparency, and efficiency toward aerodrome safety. The main subject of this year’s Safety Week, “Just Culture,” encourages open communication and safety improvement in order to prevent and reduce accidents. It does this by motivating teams to discuss safety in a positive way.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Mohamed Yousif Al Binfalah, Chief Executive Officer at Bahrain Airport Company, said: “BAC’s dedication to safety not only upholds the highest standards but also inspires continuous improvement in the realm of aerodrome safety, making the airport a trusted and secure hub for travelers and workers. We are proud to be aligned with global regulatory bodies and international organizations such as the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), fostering harmonization, consistency and interoperability in aviation safety procedures.”
